My Dearest insists on buying "thoughtful" [i.e., frivolous] gifts for holidays that need no gifts. For Easter, I got two bunny candles. It sure was fun burning them. Bunny's head is now gone. Note that his blue eyes have sunk to the bottom of the hot pool of wax that was his brains.

Shell is really giving the customer her money's worth. I highly enjoyed watching NBC At The Pump--a new gas-station-only network beamed right to your car--while fueling my $42 share of America's obsession with gas consumption. The transaction came with a prize, possibly part of Shell's "loyalty schemes" [I swear Shell's web site uses this term!]: a "collectible microfiber cloth."
